Ellen Rice has been painting since she was a small child, learning at the elbow of her artist Corcoran School of Art-taught mother. People have been requesting to buy her paintings since junior high school and is today considered one of the mid-Atlantic's most collectible painters. Her work can be found in private homes, offices, government and corporate collections throughout the United States and in 18 countries on four continents. To read more about this working self-taught artist, click here:

Visiting the Studio & Gallery
You are welcome to visit Ellen's studio during listed hours to see her originals and prints in person in the place where they are created.
To be kept up to date on Ellen's work and studio events, you may sign up for her eNewsletter at the bottom of this page. We send eNews out about once a month or less and never share our collectors' email addresses. We're open all year. The studio's location is off the beaten path on the edge of the James Farm Ecological Preserve on the Cedar Neck Peninsula, jutting into Indian River Bay, about one mile west of the Atlantic Ocean and 2 miles northwest of Bethany Beach, Delaware. The studio & gallery is in a development, so we ask that you park in the ample parking areas of the driveway and not on neighbors' lawns.
Click on the "Visit the Studio, Where & When" page for hours, directions and a link to a live Google map that will guide you here.
Commissions Ellen accepts portrait and landscape commissions on a limited basis. To arrange a private consultation about a portrait or other commissioned work, or to visit with the artist on days when the studio is not scheduled to be open, call (302) 539-3405 in advance. Ellen is painting most days but will do her best to accommodate you. Please understand if it's not possible when you wish.
