Ellen Rice and events in her studio this month
Ellen Rice has been painting since she was a small child, learning at the elbow of her Corcoran School of Art-taught mother. People have been requesting to buy her paintings since junior high school. She is today considered one of the mid-Atlantic's most collectible painters.
Debuting Two Indian River Inlet paintings and a very unique Cape Henlopen painting have just debuted in print. Click on the links to view them, but as always, please keep in mind that all images on a website are digital, and fine art is always best viewed in person.
"I think the two inlet paintings, "The Fish Are Biting" and "Towering Sea" may be special to a lot of people who love the inlet and inlet area beaches the way I do, from surf fishermen and surfers to shipwreck treasure hunters and sunbathers, it's a family area with a lot of history that for me holds many good memories."
The inlet signed prints are small and priced at only $60 each, with free shipping on orders of two or more. See Special Offers.
"Liminal Light" is probably the most brilliantly colored painting Ellen has ever done. The scene is in Cape Henlopen during rare Northern Lights seen and photographed by the person who commissioned her and also enabled her to see the multicolored, glowing lights and "pillars" in person. Silhouetted against the aurora borealis is the National Harbor of Refuge Outer Breakwater Lighthouse and Ellen's client's ship, the Star Gibraltar. "I hope you enjoy them."
Free shipping on all unframed, unstretched print orders of $100 or more in the continental US with code FREESHIPPING100 entered at checkout.
Commissions While Ellen primarily paints scenes that inspire her of the coastal area she calls home and inspirational paintings that come to her in prayer, Ellen accepts a small number of commissions every year.
To be on her list for a commissioned work of art or to consult with the artist on days when the studio is not scheduled to be open, please call (302) 539-3405for an appointment.
Ellen is painting almost every day, but will do her best to meet with you at a time that is convenient for you both. Please understand if it's not possible at the exact time you wish.

Sun rays light the distant sand and glint off the pylons of Indian River Inlet bridge, the surf and the wings of seagulls swooping and diving over the water - the latter a good indication that "The Fish are Biting," in Ellen's newest Celebration Series oil painting, no. 11/25. The original is sold, but prints are available.
Celebration Series This year, Ellen is creating a Celebration Series of 25 small original commemorative paintings that are debuting every few weeks throughout the year.
She has just finished series painting No. 11/25 (at right) of the beach on the south side of Indian River Inlet, Delaware.
(Note: The series is temporarily on hold while she catches up on other works.)
