A new ready-to-hang option for my Strength of Woman Series and other paintings
A lot of people have been asking for gallery wrap options, where a painting is continued around the sides of deep stretcher bars, ready to hang without the need for any frame or glass. The look is clean and contemporary, an excellent options for newer homes with large expanses of windows that can create distracting reflections on the glass of traditionally framed paintings.
This winter, I tackled doing gallery wraps with the hope that this alternative could also cut costs for my customers and be done faster than local framing shops are currently able to do.
Since I've wanted to do a wall of my Strength of Women Seriespaintings for a long time, but space was an issue, I started with them. You can see the results in my studio now. (Canvas gicle'es printed for gallery wraps can also be purchased unstretched so they can be rolled and shipped in a tube.)
Above and at right are some of the results of my efforts. (Please note colors are better seen in person.) Custom sizes are available. The ones shown are 18" x 24". Custom sizes are available.
You'll see more of my paintings gallery wrapped in my studio as we head toward spring. With a 20-foot expanse of floor to ceiling windows opposite my largest exhibit wall, I'm replacing many traditionally glass-fronted framed works with gallery wraps. Gallery wrapping doesn't have to eliminate frame moldings. There are some very nice ones made just for deeper stretched works of art. I will frame some gallery wraps with contemporary moldings for my long exhibit wall, the big bonus being they won't have glass!
I now have all seven in the Strength of Woman series hanging on the north wall of my studio ready for you to see and purchase if desired. Please note that the colors are best seen in person.
