Maggie
NOT FOR SALE; EXAMPLE ONLY
Maggie is a pencil and pastel commissioned
portrait by Ellen Rice, created for Maggie's grandfather
to match the style of portraits his late wife had
commissioned of their other five grandchildren many years
earlier. Maggie was an unexpected late arrival and
the apple of her granddad's eye.
Her grandfather passed on shortly after Maggie's portrait
was completed. Her dad said her granddad was very happy
that his late wife's desire to have all of their grandchildren
painted was fulfilled.
When the father came in the gallery to let Ellen know his dad had
passed on, he told her that the portrait looks more like Maggie
than the photograph from which Ellen drew it.
"I don't know how you did that!," he said.
Private commission. No prints available.
Portrait likenesses are guaranteed by Ellen.
