I had just completed my painting, Feathered Sunshine, when a gentleman came in the gallery who lived on the newly constructed Goldfinch Lane nearby and was looking for art for his new home. He wanted something to do with goldfinches, but wasn't sure what. We put our heads together and came up with this little guy looking back sassily from atop his namesake sign. Use the magnifier on the Print Options & Purchase Page and take a look at the expression on his little feathered face. I love painting birds and pretty much any and all living things, but I will say this, I do not paint signs! The hardest part of the entire painting was the sign and hopefully I never have to paint another one! Regardless, I hope you enjoy this beautiful little songbird as much as I enjoyed painting him. And if you'd like to know more about the interesting fables surrounding goldfinches, please take a peak at the story that goes with Feathered Sunshine. Ellen |
