I did this small, quick portrait sketch on deadline for a newspaper illustration and have included it here as an example of likenesses I achieve with my portrait work. The outlines are a bit overdone to compensate for the type of printing that was done back in my newspaper days, but the likeness and expressiveness come through nonetheless.
I do portraits by commission in several mediums and often work long distance via email. Mediums are oils, grisaille, sepia pencil, and graphite. Prices are based on complexity, size and medium. Portraits can range from simple sketches like the one above or life size oils with complex backgrounds. Travel expenses to work with or photograph the subject and shipping of the original are paid by the client when pertinent. Please contact me for more information.
