There are times when I'd like to stop the clock and make everything stand still so I can soak up and hold onto the beauty of the moment I'm in.
I often feel this way when I watch the ocean. Its ceaseless ebbing and flowing are a rhythm that is reassuring, even in the midst of a storm. No matter how furious the storm, everything eventually returns to normal.
My pastel painting, "A Moment in Time," was inspired by a friend's photo and memories of days many years ago when my late husband, son and I enjoyed spending long days at Delaware Seashore State Park in Fenwick Island. They were peaceful days, ending with peach-tinged twilit skies taken in a lifetime living by the sea.
Let the world rush by. For this moment, you're invited to join me as I stand at water's edge as night closes in from the west and appreciate a tiny speck of time in the amazing journey that is life, and then follow the horizon as far as I can go.
