September Sunrise, Celebration Series #16/25, EARLY PROGRESS
Update 2/4/26 - I took a step back with this little guy in order to move forward better. Cadmium orange can take over a painting. It's been toned down to take it backstage for what is coming. It may take four days to dry enough for the next step.
Celebration Series painting no. 16/25 when completed will be a warm reminder of summer on the shore - something we all need!
September Sunrise will need to dry at least two days before I can work on it again with more glazes of color.
This is a 6" x 9" oil painting on stretched, portrait grade canvas, shown after its fifth color glaze. It will dry again for two days before the next glaze.
What you are seeing is "underpainting."

All of my Celebration Series paintings are signed on the front and also titled and numbered with the words Ellen Rice Celebration Series on the back of the painting's stretcher bars or panels.
These small originals can be picked up in my studio or shipping via fully insured FedEx. If shipped, shipping fee will apply.
