"Toward the Dawn" is a 16" x 20" oil on portrait grade stretched canvas of morning mist over southeastern Delaware marshlands. The price framed in a simple driftwood frame is $2900. (Photo to come.) The price unframed is $2800.
This painting is a bit of a chameleon. Enhanced by the old masters glazing method Ellen uses, its colors shift subtly in different lighting as shown somewhat in the photos here, taken in different lighting. The true colors of original paintings are always best appreciated in person.
In "Toward the Dawn," back bay marshlands are just beginning to come to life, the morning mist is rising, as a great blue heron flies toward the sun just over the trees dawning over the Atlantic Ocean. The heron is the only living creature in sight, but the marshes are full of life, some of which might make him a good breakfast.
I love the peacefulness of this painting. I hope you feel it, too. It is available for purchase below, in my studio and by phone.
