"Awakening"
"Awakening," a 16" x 20" oil painting on portrait grade stretched canvas, is a chameleon like painting whose colors shift subtly in different lighting as shown somewhat in the photos here. Original paintings are always best seen in person.
In 'Awakening, the back bay marshlands are just beginning to come to life, the morning's mist is rising and starting to part, and a great blue heron is flying presumably to his favorite dining spot. The heron is the only living creature in sight, but the marshes are full of life, some of which might make him a good breakfast.
I love the peacefulness of this painting. I hope you feel it, too.
