The Studio Tour is just the beginning of our Christmas season events. Join us the following weekend, Saturday, Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. for the return of popular miniature artist Ann Cooper with her newest Christmas themed lanterns featuring miniatures of Ellen Rice paintings.
Ann's last visit was almost a sellout, with more custom orders coming in after her event. Be sure to come early for the best selection. Ann's lanterns are one-of-a-kind intricately detailed cosy little worlds that take collectors to another place and time without taking up the space of a dollhouse. Each is completely unique and often can't be duplicated.
More events to be announced soon!
Best times to visit the gallery - All open hours are good now that summer crowds are gone. Traffic on the now 3-lane Rt. 26 moved very smoothly all summer, slowing only during peak arrival and departure times. Now that summer's over, traffic moves quickly 24-7. Make sure to slow down as you approach the gallery. The gallery's parking lot entrance comes up fast. Scan the QR code on this page for live mobile directions.
New artisans' hand made wares are being added to this website almost daily to make your tax-free (holiday) shopping easier, while supporting local and regional artists. Check them out in the drop down menu under American Handmade at the top of this page.

Painter, writer and gallery owner Ellen Rice is acknowledged widely as one of the East Coast's most collected artists. Working from her home on the edge of a wildlife refuge in the bay area of coastal Delaware, her paintings and prints reflect a great love of the natural beauty around her and a vast array of interests.
From her nationally bestselling Treasure Beaches of the Mid-Atlantic map and luminescent seascapes and landscapes to her touchingly lifelike human and animal portraits and inspirational women series, her work is found in private, corporate and government collections throughout the world. "My greatest joy," says the artist, "is sharing with paint and words moments that create awe."
Ellen's bricks and mortar gallery is filled with her paintings in oils and their reproductions and the handmade works of more than 100 of America's most talented artisans, all hand picked by Ellen for the uplifting spirit with which they create and their dedication to quality workmanship.
These pages provide a venue to begin exploration. Better still, come in person to view the full scope and depth of Ellen's paintings and one of the '10 Must-See Art Galleries and Museums in Delaware'. ~ The Culture Trip.
